Some homes simply leave an impression. Set on nearly two private acres in Snow Hill, this custom all-brick home offers more than 7,000 finished square feet, but the stor...

The Snow Hill community is located in central Fauquier County, Virginia, just 5 miles west of Old Town Warrenton. It is a community of 164 single family homes located on 360 acres of wooded rolling hills. Snow Hill is only 45 minutes from Downtown D.C., just 45 minutes from the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah Valley, and is about an hour's drive to the University of Virginia. The community includes a tennis pavilion with two tennis courts, two recreational ponds with various water fowl and lots of fish making their home there.
Although in a rural setting, Snow Hill residents enjoy convenient access to public and private schools, academies, and a community college. The Town of Warrenton has a wonderful "Old Town" area, with 6 houses of worship, the county court house, post office, library, restaurants plus great shopping at locally owned antique shops, galleries, gift shops, and boutiques. Outside of the historic area, the Warrenton area has the larger establishments of Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Wegmans, Panera Bread, grocery stores, many big name restaurants including the fast food chains, auto parts stores, and of course four tractor sales and service shops (we are in an agricultural area!).
Snow Hill got its name from the locust trees that were abundant on the land years ago. In the spring, when the locust trees were loaded with white flower blossoms, the entire area appeared from a distance to be covered with snow.
Many residents of Snow Hill are relatively new (historically speaking) to Fauquier County but appreciate the exciting history of the area and are conscious that we live in a part of the State of Virginia that has a rich and varied past. George Washington surveyed much of the area many years ago, and the town of Warrenton still celebrates "Lafayette Day" commemorating the areas part in the revolutionary war.
